Flame Retardant for LSHF Cable
This inorganic flame retardant is specially designed for use in low smoke halogen-free (LSHF) cables and wires. Developed in collaboration with the Spanish National Research Council in Madrid, this additive offers non-toxic fire protection suitable for a variety of cable applications. The flame retardant is available in different grades, including the HM-2 and HM-2S series, which are optimized based on particle size and surface treatment.

During combustion, this flame retardant releases crystallized water at temperatures between 100-200°C and continues to do so at 300-400°C. This process helps cool the material, lower the combustion temperature, and slow down the spread of fire. At the same time, it forms a protective layer that reduces the supply of oxygen, further inhibiting the fire and suppressing smoke without releasing harmful gases.
- Made from high-purity magnesium-based minerals, this flame retardant offers effective fire protection while maintaining the integrity of the material
- When exposed to heat, it releases crystallized water and carbon dioxide, reducing fire spread by cooling the material and lowering the combustion temperature
- During combustion, it creates a protective char layer that blocks oxygen from fueling the fire, significantly slowing down the spread of flames and smoke
- Precisely ground for improved dispersion and compatibility, ensuring smooth integration into various materials without affecting their physical properties
- A sustainable, halogen-free flame retardant derived from natural minerals, offering a safer, eco-conscious alternative without compromising performance
Primarily used in low smoke halogen-free cables and rubber insulation products, this flame retardant ensures both safety and performance in industries where fire resistance is critical
